Auto-trol Technology is an interactive graphics software company.
The work here involved developing plotter drivers and output formatters
for a variety of output devices on SUN, Apollo, and DEC platforms.
More specifically, design and development on the Versatec plotter
drivers was completed for over twenty unique releases. The goal of
this development was to convert output from Auto-trol's
two graphics design systems from vector to raster before plotting
them on the plotter device. In addition, a plotting interface library
was developed to aid in the development of future plotter drivers
for any plotter manufacturer. The development involved coding in
Pascal, FORTRAN, and C.

Description:
This work involved custom coding of an existing Versatec plotter driver to produce
plots of cabling diagrams and perform automatic cutting of plots in a user-specified
method. This involved altering the Pascal and C code to produce a modified Versatec
header format in the output file. This work was on the Apollo platform.

Description:
Intergraph Corporation is a large interactive graphics software and hardware
company. The work involved designing and developing a user interface, with a
Motif look and feel, for Intergraph's scanned document management graphics system.
In addition, work was completed to load the raster graphics documents for the
new network file management system. Also, design and development was completed
on a user interface for database administration tools for the interface between
the RDBMS and the document management system. This work involved coding in C
on Intergraph's SysV Unix workstations as well as Sun workstations. Also, the
system was ported to the X-Windows system, using the X/Motif library calls.
Programming included interfaces to Informix, Oracle, and Ingris databases.

Description:
Visitech Consulting, Inc. specialized in implementing Geographical Information System
solutions. Most of the work involved short-term contracts and was performed at the
client site. The programming included interfaces to client databases using Oracle,
Informix, Sybase, and Ingris. Most of the programming was in C on Intergraph and Sun
workstations. Business applications included Oil and Gas Exploration, Utilities,
Department of Highways, and mapping companies. System intergration work involved
Intergraph SysV, Sun/OS, HP/UX, IBM RS/6000 AiX, and DEC VAX/VMS platforms.

Description:
This work involved a team of management consultants defining a change of management for
an Oil exploration company. This work included defining data flows within a new network
as well as defining the available applications on the new platform. A complete system
integration design was developed which included transfering data between three platforms,
reformating data for three exploration applications, as well as developing a complete
database design for the system. The platforms included Sun/OS on Sparc workstations,
SysV Unix on Intergraph workstations, MVS on IBM mainframes, and two Cray super computers.
The database used was Oracle.

Description:
This four month, on-site project for an oil company in Saudi Arabia involved
the design and development of a functional model for an exploration information
management system for the SUN network and included data transfers to the
Intergraph platform for smart map (hot link) capabilities. In addition, the work
also involved interviewing exploration scientists for their needs in the new
system, the gathering of exploration data for these scientists, and the design of an
Oracle data base for this data.

Description:
Advance Data Concepts, Inc. is a consulting firm specializing in information
systems for natural resources companies. The work included creating an X-Windows
GUI for an information management system storing soil survey data. This involved
an interface with an Informix database. The work also included evaluating
OSF Motif compliant graphical user interface builders to create the X/Motif GUI.

Description:
Profitool, Inc. is a software company specializing in business solutions for
the construction industry. These software solutions cover every aspect of
the business from cost and materials estimating, financial records, payroll,
and taxes. The work included creating an X/Motif graphical user interface (GUI)
for Profitool's construction information management system. The GUI was designed
in a client/server architecture, making use of standard UNIX inter-process
communication calls and written in C with X/Motif library calls.
The GUI was functional on the IBM RS/6000 AiX and HP/UX platforms.

Description:
Vartec specializes in software solutions for document management and
inventory management systems. The work included development
of client/server software for the inventory management system. The client
software was developed on the Windows 95 platform and incorporated the
XVT graphical user interface development tool to aid in the C++ development.
The work also involved developing server software, integrating embedded Oracle
Pro/C and C code in a UNIX environment of SUN, HP, and RS6000 platforms.
In addition, work was done to port the client and server software to the Windows
NT environment. Interfaces to an Oracle database were also developed.

The work included design and development of a multi-threaded,
inter-process communication algorithm that transferred data for print
approval between Windows NT machines in a token ring environment. Work also included
the design and development of an inter-process, multi-platform
communication system that transferred data and messages between Oracle
databases on NT machines and RS6000s to an DB/2 database on an OpenVMS
system. Most of the work was in C++ and C on MS-Windows NT and MS-Windows 95.

ESI specializes in software solutions for facilities, service, installation
and switch provisioning for telephony systems used by telecommunications
companies. The work included development of an X/Motif graphical user interface
for the telephony provision and control system. Most of this work was in C and C++
with the aid of the UIM/X GUI builder. Modifications were performed to an existing
report writer against an Informix database for a telephony application. This work
involved C++ and Informix SQL and used the ODBC API as the database interface.

This contract involved object oriented analysis and design of a crime
information system. Most of this work was done with on Windows NT with
Rational Rose to produce the interaction, object, and class diagrams
using the Booch method. Work also involved the developement of GUI screens
using IBM Visual Builder, and the developement of applications in C++
using IBM's Open Class Library.
